Vancouver Island’s

west coast

Tofino is a small community at the end of a 79 mi. (126 Km) road that runs from east to west across Vancouver Island, over the coastal mountains, to the Pacific Coast.

Tofino, BC lies in the heart of Clayoquot Sound which offers great fishing, Kayaking, boating, and other recreation.  You will find rocky cliffs and outcroppings and quiet sandy coves and beaches in this area.

Tofino is located on a peninsula that juts northwest along the Pacific Ocean from the south side of Clayoquot Sound.  On the west side of the peninsula you have the unending surf of the Pacific Ocean pounding the shore.  On the east side of the peninsula you have the protected waters of Clayoquot Sound.

Winter vacations and weekends.

Its remote location on the edge of the Pacific has made Tofino a favorite spot for winter vacations.  Storm watching has become very popular in recent years.  It has made Tofino busy in the winter as well as in the summer season.  Tofino has several lodging facilities with cozy rooms with fireplaces to warm you after watching the mighty power of the Pacific come crashing onto the shore.

Getting to Tofino
