Vancouver’s West End Neighborhood is the gateway to Stanley Park. This is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Canada with its high-rise apartments and condominiums.

The “West End” is the west end of Vancouver’s downtown area. A little confusion exists about ‘where is’ the west end. The City of Vancouver has two downtown neighborhoods, downtown and the west end. The City’s west end is everything west of Burrard Street. The problem is that there are at least three separate and distinct areas in the City’s West End. These areas are Robson Street, Davie Village, and what we call the “West End” which is that portion of the downtown west of Denman Street to Stanley Park.

We have basically separated the area between Denman and Burrard into two additional shopping areas. We opted to do so because these areas are each unique and have the equivalent of Chambers of Commerce with their own web sites

In the map to the right our “West End” is shown in light blue in the top left corner by Stanley Park. The Robson area is shown in a Salmon color and Davie Village is shown in purple. The light yellow area is our “Granville” area and it is roughly identical to the City’s downtown neighborhood.

You will find fine dining, coffee shops, cafes, and shopping in the area. The highlight of the area is the beautiful beaches on English Bay. The evenings here are beautiful in the summer with the sun setting over the islands, reflecting on the bay, and making the beaches glisten. No better evening can be found in Vancouver than dining at one of the area’s restaurants and taking an after dinner walk along the beach.
