Pitt Meadows is located at the confluence of the Pitt River and the Fraser River. It is on the North bank of the Fraser River and the east bank of the Pitt River.

Pitt Meadows lies at the southwest corner of the Maple Ridge District which is shown in pink and the top center of the bottom map to the left.

Pitt Meadows has a population around 20,000. Over 85% of the land mass in Pitt Meadows is in the agricultural land reserve so farming is a major component of the community. There is also a regional airport located in the City.

Where is Pitt Meadows?

The easiest way to find Pitt Meadows is to take the Trans-Canada Highway-1 to Exit 44 (Port Coquitlam / Hwy.-7) in Coquitlam just north of the Port Mann Bridge.

Turn onto Highway-7 eastbound to Port Coquitlam. Continue on Highway-7 for about 8 miles (13 Km) until you cross the Pitt River Bridge. On the east side of the bridge you will enter Pitt Meadows. About 2 miles (3.2 Km) past the bridge you will find the City.

In Pitt Meadows you will find opportunities for cycling, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, golfing, and climbing. Between Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge you will find more than 30 miles (50 Km) of dykes to hike on.

Pitt Lake is the largest freshwater tidal influenced lake in North America and the largest lake in the Lower mainland. The Grant Narrows Regional Park is located at the mouth of Pitt Lake. The Pitt-Addington Marsh Wildlife Management Area leads from here right up to the foot of Alouette Mountain with its thick forests. This is a bird watchers paradise.
