The Lower Mainland
of British Columbia is about 50 miles wide from The Fraser River The river cutting right through the middle of the map runs from east to west emptying into the Strait of Georgia. The River is the famous Fraser River. At the beginning of settling the area, before trains arrived, the Fraser River was the main highway from the Strait of Georgia to Hope, BC. The North Shore It should be noted that on the map above the communities of North Vancouver and West Vancouver are shown as the North Shore. At the east end (right on the map) of the North Shore is the City of North Vancouver. |
