Stanwood, WA is located in Snohomish County in northwestern Washington State.  Snohomish County is shown in red in the map of Washington State located to the left.

 

Stanwood is about 46 miles north of Seattle in the Interstate-5 corridor.  It has a population of over 5,000 and, according to the city, is growing at a rate of about 5% a year.

 

Stanwood maintains a small town ambiance yet is close enough to Seattle Metro to enjoy all it has to offer.

 

One of the unique aspects of Stanwood is that is services the people who live on Camano Island.  Camano Island is connected to Stanwood by a bridge on State Highway-532 that goes west through Stanwood to the island from Interstate-5 Exit 212.

 

Stanwood was originally a logging town and when the logs were all gone they found themselves in the middle of a very fertile farming area.  Today agriculture is a very important component of the local economy.

 

Where is Stanwood?

Stanwood is 6 miles west of Interstate-5 Exit 212.  Exit 212 is about 18 miles north of Everett and 46 miles north of Seattle
