Photo of Kalaloch Lodge

We recommend the Kalaloch Lodge

We can’t show enough photos of Kalaloch Lodge, the ocean, beach, cabins, facilities, and everything else here.  This is a great place for a family vacation and even a better place for “just the two of you.”

The Lodge, shown from the beach, at left, just fits the area.  This building should be at the beach..  The lodge has rooms, a café, a gift shop, a lounge, and a dining room where we had a wonderful dinner while looking out over the ocean.

In the photos below are the sign on the highway alerting you to your destination. The photo at the center top is a view of the front of the lodge building.  The dining room is in the round area of the lodge.  The photo at the right is a view of the ocean at sunset from the top of the path down to the beach.  The bottom photo is a view of the cabins on the bluff from the beach.

The cabins here are not luxurious they are comfortable, cozy beach cabins.  You must remember you are at the ocean where sand and salt air take their toll.  Instead of deep luxury, you will find a broom at your door to sweep the sand off your shoes and a shower at the head of the path to wash the sand off your legs and feet.  I would call the cabins cozy with their Franklin Fireplaces.  You will find a bundle of wood in the wood box when you arrive.  If you plan to cook in the cabin, keep in mind they have empty cupboards you must bring all your own dishes, pot, pans, soap, wash cloths, and everything else you will need for cooking and eating.  Keep in mind that the food is great in the Lodge if you forget the silverware or something else important like a frying pan.

In addition to the cabins and the rooms in the lodge, they also have a traditional motel unit at the end of the row of cabins on the beach.  The unit is not beach front but you can see over and between the cabins in front of the building.  They also have a general store on the grounds where you can buy food, etc.

Because of the ocean environment they are always full in the summer, most weekends, and holidays.  Make sure to make reservations as there are no alternatives within 40 miles.
