Visitor information about Spokane, WA

Spokane, WA is located in eastern Washington State about 25 miles west of the Washington / Idaho state line.  Interstate-90 goes right through Spokane

Spokane is the county seat for Spokane County.  Spokane County is shown in red on the Washington State map shown to the left.

The original inhabitants of this area were members of the Spokane Tribe of Indians.  They hunted and fished along the Spokane River and fished at Spokane Falls which is now located in Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane.  The Tribe hosts the Riverfront Park Pow Wow held each August.  It is a family affair and well worth your time to attend.

Riverfront Park

Riverfront Park was the center of the Spokane Exposition.  Although little remains of the Exposition the Park today has an ice arena in the winter and a historic Looff Carrousel, IMAX Theatre, amusement rides, mini-golf, ice cream & pizza parlor, and especially river watching in this 100 acre downtown park.

The best thing about Riverfront Park is that it has hotels on it perimeter so you can literally stay in the Park.  Both the Red Lion and the Double Tree Hotels are right on the park.
