is in northeast Washington State and is shown in red on the Washington
State map to the left.
Republic is located on WA Highway-20 which is the
north most route from west to east in the state. WA-20 is one of Washington’s scenic
byways.
Republic is about 220 miles east of where WA
Highway-20 leaves Interstate-5 at Burlington, WA and 40 mi. west of Lake
Roosevelt at Kettle Falls, WA.

Republic is about 36 mi. south of the US / Canada
border crossing at Danville, WA via WA Highway-21.
Just over 7,200 people live in Ferry County.

Stonerose Interpretive Center
Fifty million
years ago this area was under an ancient lake. The lake’s bottom filled with volcanic
ash, plants, leaves, flowers, insects, and animals. Today you can discover these remnants of
the past with a hammer and chisel at the Stonerose Interpretive
Center.
Bring your own
tools or rent them there. They will
demonstrate the techniques of how to discover the fossils and point you in
the right direction. Should you discover a significant find you are
required to leave the fossil at the Interpretive Center.

Antique Car & Truck Museum
Located on WA-21
between Republic and Curlew.
Several rare
cars, trucks, and farm equipments are on display at this free museum. Donations are welcome.
Open Labor Day to
Memorial Day 11am to 5 pm Friday thru Monday.

Republic Historical Center
Located next to
Stonerose Interpretive Center
The oldest
surviving structure in Republic is located on the grounds. The small museum has a good collection of
historic photographs.
