Washington State University.
Pullman, WA is located in Whitman County in
southeast Washington State. Whitman
County is in Washington State’s Palouse.
The Palouse is known for its steep rolling hills. This is wheat country. Whitman

Pullman has a population in the 27,000 range with
an economic base of faculty, students, public employees, some high tech
industry and agriculture.

Washington State University and the University of
Idaho located 9-miles east of Pullman in Moscow, ID. have a major impact on
the local economy and social life of the communities.
Although one would think that it is the student
population that is the major factor, in fact it is probably the faculty and
staff that have the major effect on the community. Whatever it is, there is no question that
this area is radically enhanced by the educational institutions in the
area.

The Pullman area, originally called the Three
Rivers area, was initially settled in the 1850’s but its first real
benchmark of a community took place in 1881 when a post office was
established in Pullman, WA
Pullman lies at the junction of US Highway-195 and
WA-27 in the southeast corner of Whitman County. Pullman is 9-miles form the
Washington/Idaho state line. Pullman
is about 75-miles south of Spokane via US-195.
