Visitor Information about
Kennewick.
Kennewick, Washington is
located in Wine Country in south central Washington State. Kennewick
is in Benton County. Benton
County is shown in yellow and the
rest of Wine Country is shown in red on the Washington State
map to the left.
Of the three cities that
make up the Tri-Cities, Kennewick
is the south most city. It is
located on the West Bank of the Columbia River directly across the river
from Pasco.
It is a great deal more difficult
to find the dividing line between Richland
and Kennewick. The two cities have grown together and
they did not decide on a straight line.
Richland
is north of

|
Kennewick on the west
bank of the Columbia River and Interstate-182 runs in the neighborhood of
the divide between the two cities but it is not the line. The Yakima River’s confluence with the
Columbia River lies south of I-182.
Highway-240 runs south on the west bank of the Columbia River from
I-182 to downtown Kennewick. On the northeast
side of WA-240 is Columbia City Park.
It has a wealth of attractions for families and 4.5 miles of
riverfront on the Columbia River. On
the last weekend in July the hydroplanes have raced in the Columbia River
for over 40 years. Columbia Park is
the center of the activities. We
have more information about the park in recommended parks.
The City
The City of Kennewick has
a population in the area of 60,000 people and it covers more than 25 square
miles.

northeastern Oregon. Kennewick is

city. The mall is also surrounded

freestanding stores.
Historic Downtown
Kennewick is located in east Kennewick and it offers additional shopping
opportunities. The word “Kennewick”
is an American Indian word meaning winter paradise. Kennewick has over 300 sunny days each
year.

recreation run toward Golf, Canyon Lakes Golf Course is one of three public
golf courses in Kennewick and we’re told it is rated one of the best
