Central Western Oregon is our name for the area in Northwest Oregon that lies between the Coastal Mountain Range and the Cascade Mountains south of the Portland Metropolitan Area.  This area is also known as the Central or Southern Willamette River Valley.  This valley is one of the most fertile agricultural areas in the United States.

The major cities in this region are Salem, Corvallis, Albany, and Eugene.  Salem is Oregon’s Capital.

Access to the Pacific Coast

In the Central Western Region of Oregon you will find three highways that will take you to the Pacific Coast from Interstate-5.  To the north, heading west from Salem is Oregon Highways 22 and 18 which will take you west to Lincoln City.

In the center of the region is US Highway-20 heading west from the Albany / Corvallis area taking you to Newport, Oregon on the Coast. In the southern part of the region you will find Oregon Highway-126 winding its way through the Coastal Mountain Range on its way to Florence, on the Pacific Coast.

All three of these highways are two lane highways that will offer you a pleasant trip over the approximately 70 mile trip from Interstate-5 to the Pacific Coast.
