Visitor Information for the
Central Western Oregon sub-region of northwest Oregon State.
Central Western Oregon
Our Central Western Oregon sub-region is made up of the
southern end of the Willamette River Valley. This valley lies west of the Cascade Mountains
and east of the Coastal Mountain Range.
The coastal mountains keep the fog and low clouds on the coast
giving the Willamette Valley a warmer climate than the coast. The valley is west of the Cascade
Mountains which cause moisture to fall before going over the mountains so
the Willamette Valley is one of the best farming areas in the world.
Interstate-5 goes down the Willamette Valley and the
cities of Salem, Albany, Corvallis, and Eugene are in this area. Salem is
the State Capital.

The Albany / Corvallis area
is an interesting tourist area worth some of your time. With Albany,
Corvallis, Lebanon, Sweet Home, and Halsey, Oregon in this area the visitor
could easily spend a week in this area and not see all the interesting
things to see and do. The Oregon
Coast lies about 80 miles West and the Willamette National Forest lies 35
miles to the East.
