The Willamette River is one of the main attractions in
the area. Here the river is nearly
void of the commercial traffic you find in the Portland area so the river
is used mainly for water skiing, boating, canoeing, and other water sports.
The unique thing about the Willamette River is that it
is only one of a few rivers in the United States that flows northward.
