Aurora is a small town in northwest Oregon State. It is located in the fertile Willamette River Valley. Aurora claims to be the antique capital of Oregon.

Where is Aurora?

Aurora is most easily found by taking Interstate-5 Exit 278 and going east 2.6 miles on the Ehlen Road. You will find yourself in Aurora.

Aurora is 22 miles south of Portland, Oregon and it is also 22 miles north of the State Capital, Salem. Aurora is in Marion County on Oregon Highway-99E southwest of Oregon City.

A little about Aurora.

Aurora had a population of 655 in the 2000 census. Aurora began as a utopian communal society. It was founded by Dr. William Keil in 1856. The museum, located at the corner of Second & Liberty Streets has five of the original buildings of the commune and a wide variety of displays.
