Visitor Information about southwest Oregon.
Southwest Oregon consists
of two regions, the South Coast and
the Rogue Valley
Western Oregon
Western Oregon is really
divided into two distinct areas by mountain ranges. The most westerly part of Oregon lies on
the Pacific Coast on the western slopes of the Coastal Mountain Range and
along the shores of the Pacific Ocean.
The West Slope of the Cascades
The second region is the
Interstate-5 corridor. The I-5
corridor is the Valley between the Coastal Mountain Range and the Cascade
Mountain Range that runs down the state from north to south, one-third of
the State to the west of the mountains and about two-thirds of the state to
the east of the Cascades.
Willamette Valley
The north end of the I-5
corridor is the Willamette Valley.
It runs from the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers
where Portland is located south to the Eugene Area.
