Eugene, OR is located in the Willamette River nestled between the Cascade Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountains in central western Oregon.  It is also located on Interstate-5 as it travels south up the Willamette Valley from Portland.

The locals say that Eugene is “So friendly that it has a first name.”  We agree and believe you will find Eugene a warm and friendly place to stop during your travels.

Eugene has a population of about 138,000 and is 422 feet above sea level.  It is located at the confluence

of the Willamette and McKenzie rivers and the river runs right through the middle of the city.  There is a park and a greenway along the entire length of the river through the city.  Four pedestrian / bicycle bridges cross the river as part of the trail system to provide loops.

Eugene is the home of the University of Oregon and is known for its passion for recreation (100 parks with over 2,600 acres of open space), educational environment, arts, and scenic beauty.

Eugene’s history is that of a lumber town, as the Douglas Fir forests around the area can attest to but today the city has a diverse economy including forest products, agriculture, and wine making.

You will enjoy Eugene’s historic downtown with its art galleries, boutique shops, and restaurants.
