History

Originally inhabited by the Simump Native American Tribe, Bothell was a heavily wooded and swampy area. White settlers first came in the 1870’s. The steamboat running on the Sammamish River made a stop here and a logging camp was also set up here. In 1884 the first merchants opened businesses along with a church and school. The town was incorporated in April 1909.

The Bothell Historical Museum

This museum sits in a restored 1893 two-story house. The building was moved from Main Street to the Park of Bothell Landing in 1978. Here it is surrounded by the first schoolhouse of Bothell, a bell tower, the 1885 Beckstrom Log Cabin, a gazebo and arched wooden footbridge.
