Visitor information about visiting wineries in Idaho. When we started looking around for wineries we didn’t think of Idaho. Obviously, the wine industry in the northwest is growing. We were surprised to find more than a couple of wineries in Idaho. Idaho AVA On March 12, 2007 the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) approved Idaho’s Snake River Valley as a designated American Viticultural Area (AVA). This makes Idaho one of America’s up and coming wine producers. See the announcement.
